Dirtballers!

We played a tournament in Griffith, NSW last weekend. Griffith is 3-4 hours away. We travelled with James and Andy. The tournamet was advertised as a clay court tournament, but the courts seemed more like dirt than clay. Unfortunately I hurt my left quad mussle (and my right quad cramped) in my first match of the tournament, so I just watched tennis most of the weekend. Kristen and James played okay, but the highlight of the tournament was that Andy won the 16s draw!

Dylan's Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday so last night we went to the Steak Pit in Wodonga with Andy, James, Margaret, Graham, and Paul. It was fun. The food was great.

Kristen got me a pair of Aussie-style work boots. Every Australian man owns at least one pair of these slip-on-style boots. They are supposed to last 10 years for a hard working farmer, so even if I get really into weekend gardening mine will probably still look new when I die. Great present!

Graham really spared no expense when it came to celebrating my big day. In the morning, he put birthday candles in one of the muffins at the office, just for me. Then at dinner he didn't finish his bottle of wine, so when we left the restaurant he smuggled the bottle out in his mother's handbag, much to her embarrassment. What a guy!

Painting Paul's Kitchen & Other News

Hi everybody. Sorry we have not updated our blog in a while. We've been busy doing things. Here's the news:

We spent last week painting Paul's kitchen. He finished remodelling the kitchen a few months ago but he had still not painted, so the walls and ceiling were just bare dry-wall. It was a tough project because Paul's ceilings are very tall. We had to rent the tallest ladder we could find. The room looks awesome now!

Dylan has been enjoying playing winter pennant. He plays #2 for the Thurgoona Cats Tennis Team, and his team is in first place right now in the standings. His team plays every Saturday. Some matches are at home and some are away. Last Saturday Dylan played #1 as a fill-in for one of the other teams and lost to a good player. While Dylan was at tennis, I entertained myself by going to the movies. I saw The Painted Veil, since none of the guys wanted to go to it anyway. I enjoyed it. Then I drove around the outskirts of Albury for a while, looking for the Thurgoona Tennis Club.

Our Monday mixed-dubs teams is doing well. We are still undefeated, though we have had a few difficult matches. Tonight one of our regular female team members can't make it, so Paul's sister Donna is playing for us as a fill-in. We are excited to play with her.

It's Dylan's birthday tomorrow so we are skipping Tight-ass Tuesday tomorrow night and going out to dinner instead. We are going to the Steak Pit in Wodonga.

We miss everybody and hope you are all well.
